How it all started...
Twenty-two years ago, Amy Bahr was able to participate in a therapy dog training class. She didn't know anything about therapy dog training but was curious. The class was wonderful. Another student, who had a PhD, and is a college professor, said that the test was more difficult than getting her PhD. At the time, they laughed about it. She said the difficulty was relying on another living thing to do well! We both passed, and 22 years later, we visit over 45 facilities in 4 boroughs, Long Island, and Westchester. My dogs, all of whom are rescues, and many who were on death row, are superstars. They love getting and giving love and support.

As I am now teaching in colleges, I have researched the affect that therapy dog work has on the pet! And miraculously it has the same effect on the animal as it does on the client. The animal's blood pressure goes down, and their breathing is better.
Our team has grown this year and we even hired a cat! He is a very special cat, and loves people. August, his owner, is very special too.
We would love to meet you and find ways to connect.
